Little details while packing and proper packing of your baggage is of great importance for shipping and transportation of your valuable goods. Proper packaging ensures safe and secure delivery of items to their destination.
Here’s what you can do to ensure that every box you send arrives undamaged and in perfect condition.
1. CHOOSE QUALITY
Choose good quality cardboard boxes for packing your goods. The boxes should be rigid , in good condition and durable. Avoid using thin, damaged, damp or used boxes.
2. CHOOSE RIGHT SIZE
While packing your goods make sure you use appropriate size of the box. Do not overload the boxes. Too much padding reduces the stacking strength. Avoid boxes that are too big for their contents as they risk getting crushed. Try to distribute weight evenly amongst boxes.
3. AVOID EMPTY SPACE
Try to keep your goods in such a manner that the boxes are fully stuffed and the contents are not bouncing around or moving around easily.
4. SEAL WITH AN ‘H’
After keeping your goods properly in the boxes use good quality sealing tape in an H pattern on the top and bottom of the boxes.
5. ADDRESS YOUR LABELS CLEARLY
After being secured your goods need to be marked properly so that they can be easily examined if required.
A large visible label must be placed on each box containing the following information.
•Receiver’s full name
• Receiver’s full address
•Receiver’s contact number
•Item no ( e.g. box no 1, box no 2 etc.)
6. MARK THE ITEMS ‘FRAGILE’
Do mark the boxes as fragile containing fragile or breakable items thus enabling the mover to easily recognise the boxes that need to be handled with care.
7. PROFESSIONAL PACKING FOR HEAVIER ITEMS
We recommend for professional packaging of certain items such as furniture, fragile items, electronic items, heavy appliances etc. Professional packaging ensures better protection and safe, undamaged delivery.
